1. Azelaic acid - is a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor, which thanks to its properties reduces the conversion of testosterone to its much more active derivative - dihydrotestosterone (DHT). As a result, it exhibits a local, mild anti-androgenic effect and helps reduce acne lesions. What's more, this ingredient is also an inhibitor of tyrosinase - an enzyme essential in the production of skin pigment, so it evens out skin tone and aids in reducing hyperpigmentation.
2. Sabal palm extract - similarly to azelaic acid, sabal palm fruit extract acts as a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor, which thanks to its properties reduces the conversion of testosterone to its much more active derivative - dihydrotestosterone (DHT). As a result, it exhibits a local, mild anti-androgenic effect, reduces excessive sebum production and helps reduce acne lesions.
3. Avocado esters (Butyl Avocadate) - derived from butyl alcohol and fatty acids present in avocado oil. They have a seboregulatory effect, thus indirectly reducing skin lesions.
